Tata Motors has launched the long-range version of the Nexon EV, dubbed as the Nexon EV Max. The new variant is priced from Rs 16.49 lakh, going up to Rs 19.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The model gets an upgraded 40.5 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of over 453 km. The model has also seen several upgrades on the feature front including changes to the cabin, centre console as well as more safety and tech onboard.\nVisually, the new long-range Tata Nexon EV Max will largely remain identical to the regular model, however, and we see the addition of a 'Max' badge on the EV. Do note that the Nexon EV Max will be sold alongside the standard version. The cabin too remains largely unchanged. However, the car will come with an updated centre console, featuring a new rotary dial with a display unit that shows you the mode you are in and other features. The new offering is about 100 kg heavier with about 70 kg of the weight coming from the bigger battery alone.\nEquipped with a 40.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the Nexon EV Max offers 33 per cent higher battery capacity, delivering an ARAI certified range of 453 km (under standard testing conditions). In comparison, the standard Nexon EV offers a range of 312 km on a single charge. The Nexon EV Max produces 141 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The company claims a 0-100 kmph sprint time under 9 seconds.\nTata has also improved the charging time on the Nexon EV Max that will be available with options of a 3.3 kW charger or a 7.2 kW AC fast charger. The 7.2 kW AC fast charger can be installed either at home or at work. This helps reduce the charging time to 6.5 hours. The Nexon EV MAX also supports a faster charging time of 0-80 per cent in just 56 mins from any 50 kW DC fast charger. Read More
