Ampere, the two-wheeler brand under Greaves Electric Mobility, has introduced its most premium scooter, the Nexus, in India. The new Ampere Nexus comes in two variants: EX (priced at Rs. 1.10 Lakh) and ST (priced at Rs. 1.20 Lakh). As per Ampere, these are their introductory prices and are expected to increase by Rs. 10,000/- once the introductory period is over.
The Ampere Nexus, originally revealed as the NXG concept at the 2023 Auto Expo, is now available as a production model, featuring numerous innovative advancements. It boasts a hybrid swingarm and dual suspension system for an enhanced riding experience.
Battery Specs & Features
The Nexus is equipped with a 3kWh LFP battery, which the company states provides a certified range of 136 km on a full charge. The e-scooter comes with 5 riding modes: Eco, City, Power, Limp, and Reverse. With a mid-mounted motor, it asserts a maximum speed of 93 km/h, restricted to 63 km/h in City mode and 42 km/h in Eco mode.
Regarding features, apart from Bluetooth connectivity, and the hill hold function, the Ampere Nexus EX variant is equipped with a 6.2-inch LCD console, whereas the top-tier ST variant boasts a 7-inch TFT display.
This scooter features a slim frame, a spacious flat floorboard, dual rear shocks, and runs on 12-inch alloy wheels, complemented by diamond-cut LED headlamps. Ampere asserts that the chassis boasts exceptional strength, thanks to its load-stratified design enhanced with nex.armor technology. The Nexus is made available in 4 colours- Lunar White, Steel Grey, Zanskar Aqua, and Indian Red.
The Nexus will compete with several upscale electric scooters, such as the Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, and others. At present, Ampere has established over 400 dealerships nationwide and plans to expand its presence further.
